Pedro Jiménez Guerrero

Title: Climate change and air pollution: two silent killers
Dr. Pedro Jiménez-Guerrero is Full Professor at the University of Murcia (Spain). He has been a researcher at the University of Porto (Portugal), University of California, Irvine (USA), Max-Planck Institute (Mainz, Germany), the Goddard Institute for Space Studies of NASA (NASA-GISS, USA), the University of California, Los Angeles (USA, 2009) and the Zürich Institute of Technology (Switzerland, 2014). He held the position of principal investigator in the Earth Sciences group of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) from 2008 to 2009 and in 2010 he joined the University of Murcia. His main activities and research interests include the study of air pollution-climate impacts, high-resolution climate modelling, and aerosol-radiation/aerosol-cloud interactions, from a basic and applied research perspective.

Elefteria (Elia) Psillakis is a Professor in Water Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Greece. She is Editor-in-Chief of “Advances in Sample Preparation” (Elsevier), Speciality Chief-Editor of “Environmental Analysis” (Frontiers) and served as Associate Editor in “Journal of Separation Sciences” (Wiley) from 2019-2023. She is Head of the Sample Preparation Network of the EuChemS-Division of Analytical Chemistry and the Founder and Director of ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions, a TUCrete Spin-Off Company.
